I watched this riveting documentary online thanks to Susan's link. Enlightening and exhilarating!
A favorite part was the courtroom evidence showing that the authors of the intelligent design book Of Pandas and People, which was intended for use in the Dover (PA) Area High School biology course, altered text from "creationists" to "design proponents". But fumbling in the use of their word processor, they instead produced the phrase "cdesign proponentsists" (ref. @ 6 minutes, 5 seconds into Chapter 12 of the online show). Further, that the editing change was made immediately after the conclusion of the 1987 Edwards v. Aguillard case, in which the Supreme Court ruled it unconstitutional to teach creationism in public school science class. This was a key piece of evidence linking intelligent design to creationism.
As pointed out on the show, this was, to borrow a term from evolutionary science, transitional evidence. What fun!
