Hi all,
My family and I will be attending the Atheist Alliance International in October of 2009 in Burbank, CA. My kids will participate in the "Taste of Camp Quest" event for children and youth. The featured key speakers include Richard Dawkins and Bill Maher.
I'm looking forward to meeting some folks there. Mai from the Ethical Culture Society of Silicon Valley will be there manning an informational table. Kate Lovelady of the St. Louis Ethical Society will be giving a presentation (I think organizational lifecycles may be the topic). I will be part of a panel which will facilitate discussion on the development of freethought family programs. Amanda Metskas of Camp Quest will also be on the panel. I'm still looking for other panel volunteers. We will share resources that families might consider in this effort including the Ethical Society Without Walls and nondiscrimatory children's programs like Earth Scouts, Campfire, and Roots and Shoots. Check it out and see if you are able to join us. There will be other organizations represented including the American Humanist Association and American Atheists. We may have some leaders from the Society for Humanistic Judaism and I'd love to grow the Ethical Culture representation there.
