From the Leader
Susan has two blogs for you to read - one about long-time Ethical Culturist and ESWoW member Rose L. Walker who died on June 17, 2011, and one a report and reflection on the recent American Ethical Union Assembly.
Community Call
Our Community Calls are a way for us to connect with each other, to hear each others' voices, to learn more about Ethical Culture. This week, on July 3, 2011 we will be discussing the topic of Interdependence and include in that a report and reflection on the recent AEU Assembly and how we are interconnected with the AEU and other societies.
The calls take place on the first and third Sunday of each month at 12m PT, 1pm MT, 2pm CT, and 3pm ET. The number for the call is 866-740-1260 and the access code is 5766842#. We ask for safety reasons that participants in our calls not drive while on our calls. Please invite others who might be interested to join us. Read more »

Foundations of Ethical Culture: Ethical Culture History - Dr. Howard Radest
Can Virtue Be Taught?, Howard Radest
Howard Radest spoke at the Ethical Society of Northern Westchester (ESNW.org) on October 4, 2009 on the topic Can Virtue Be Taught? (The possibility and impossibility of moral education) (You need to scroll down a bit to find his talk.) While the sound quality isn't the greatest, I thought it was well worth listening to. You might especially appreciate the question and answer session at the end. This is Howard Radest's biography as it appeared in the program of the ESNW and you can find out even more about him on the Philosopedia website. Read more »
